Lighthouse Learning’s unique continuing medical education model features world class curricula, created by leading national experts across 12 medical specialties, with absolutely no commercial funding or input.
Formats
Educational programs from Lighthouse Learning, available in digital (e.g. archived on-demand, webinar and CD-based), live presentation and print formats, are uniquely targeted to both specialists and generalist physicians as well as patients, with multiple modules for each audience. By educating primary care doctors with specialists on the latest approaches and keeping patients engaged in their own care, Lighthouse Learning’s programs will help to make healthcare more effective and efficient.
Our education consist of a full spectrum of approaches, from traditional didactic modules to our Lighthouse Learning Complex Patient CasesTM (CPCs) which explore the intersection of various disciplines and provider types in the case of patients who have multiple comorbidities. The CPC session format is designed to include representatives from multiple specialties and primary care in a discussion of a complex patient case. The CPC cases explore how to best integrate quality care for “complex” patients in real-life scenarios, taking into consideration key regional systems-based issues.
Core Competencies
Lighthouse Learning curricula adhere to the six core competencies of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Lighthouse Learning is an ACCME accredited provider of CME and provides credit for participants in our education programs both through direct as well as co-sponsorships with nationally recognized, fully accredited entities.
Broad Coverage and Expert Curricula Leadership
Our curricula are developed across 12 specialties – these areas cover about 90 percent of the reasons patients seek medical attention – by leading national experts in those areas. In recruiting faculty, we seek out doctors who are well-known, not just as academic physicians, but as people with great clinical expertise and wisdom.
